For a flat wooden pentagon, turn the saw table to 36 degrees and keep the blade vertical. The 31.717 degree value belongs only to the optional 3D face-to-face bevel.

Before the first cut

Clamp the workpiece; never freehand short offcuts.
Use a stop block for repeated lengths, measured long point to long point.
Scrap-test every new angle and one full face before batch cutting.
Eyes and ears on. Fingers outside the no-go zone.
LED or low-voltage lighting only. No candles, no hot bulbs near fabric.
